Hello 104.9 The Edge; Goodbye Mix 104.9
As you’ve probably heard, big changes happened this morning at 104.9 FM WBXX . Calhoun County started new chapter in local radio at 6am. Alternative Rock fans will be thrilled to tune in 104.9 The Edge. Things kicked off with the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party).”
Rock music fans know that a few months ago a Lansing station yanked the rug out from under them to put on yet another Country station. There are plenty of those, and quite a few Light Rock Stations too. So….if you wanted Alternative Rock back in Calhoun County….you’ve got it!
We realize the change won’t be for everyone. All of us at Mix 104.9 WBXX and Townsquare Media want to say “thanks” for listening and supporting the station. We know many of you will miss it.
Here’s a tip for dedicated “Bob & Sheri” fans: They’re still on the air on several stations across America, and you may still hear them on line on one of our other stations. If you’ve already downloaded the Radio Pup app, go to “Main”….browse A-Z to Presque Isle….select Q96.1….touch the STAR in the upper right to “favorite” the station.
Another option we hope you’ll consider is tuning in to another Battle Creek station, such as WKFR 103.3 and 95.3 WBCK.
http://wkfr.com/ Wake up with Will & Tess. They have a lot of fun, and they play great music.
http://wbckfm.com Richard Piet and the crew bring you all the info you need to start your day, and lots of fun too, with a focus on Calhoun County news and people.
In the past 25 years, WBXX has gone from Top 40, to Oldies and then light rock. A few years ago, it moved from 95.3 to 104. 9 FM. Change is part life, and certainly part of radio.
