The Detroit Tigers swept the Chicago White Sox with a 5-2 victory Sunday.  Justin Verlander pitched seven strong innings to even his record at 5-5.  Verlander allowed homers to Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier, but got himself out of two major jams in order to win for the third time in four starts. He gave up five hits and a walk while striking out eight.  Shane Greene and Francisco Rodriguez finished, with Rodriguez picking up his 15th save.  Miguel Cabrera and Nick Castellanos drove in some key runs.

Justin Upton drove in a pair of runs.  Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez each had two hits, and Cameron Maybin was on base three times.  Detroit came into the series having lost eight of its last 10 games against left-handed starters, but beat a trio of Chicago lefties: Carlos Rodon, Chris Sale and Carlos Quintana.  Michael Fulmer goes for his 6th win tonight at Comerica Park as the Blue Jays come in for three games.  Broadcast time is 6:45pm on WBCK.

The Battle Creek Bombers scored four in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Kalamazoo Growlers, 5-4 at C.O. Brown Stadium.  They took advantage of four straight walks and an error in the 9th. The Bombers were able to stay in the game thanks to strong relief performances by Josh Prater and Edgar Sanchez. The two combined for 4.2 innings of shutout baseball, and Sanchez ended up recording the victory for the Bombers. The Bombers took three of four games against the Growlers in the first part of the I-94 rivalry series. The series will pick up again with a home-and-home doubleheader starting in Battle Creek on June 20.  The Bombers now welcome the Green Bay Bullfrogs for a two game stint starting June 6 at 7:05 p.m. at C.O. Brown Stadium.

Golden State Warriors crushed the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-77 to take a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.   Draymond Green poured in 28 points and had seven rebounds and five assists.  The Cavs played most of the second half without Kevin Love, who took a blow to the head from Harrison Barnes and finished with just five points.  Stephen Curry scored 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting, including a 4-for-8 mark from 3-point range.  LeBron James had 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Cavaliers, who host Game 3 on Wednesday.

The Sharks won game three, 3-2 in overtime.  They host game four tonight with the Pittsburgh Penguins up two games to one.
